SOFTWARE AND MODELLING

SEACAMS use a range of software for data analysis and modelling. Some of the software used include:

• ArcView GIS for mapping and remote sensing analysis.

• MATLAB for data analysis and modelling.

• Primer-E, an environmental multivariate statistical analysis package.

• Python, a high level programming language for rapid development of bespoke software.

SEACAMS also run a number of numerical models, such as TELEMAC and POLCOMS, which can model:

• Hydrodynamic processes in coastal and shelf sea regions.

• Dispersion of pollutants.

• Changes to beach morphology due to changing environmental factors such as climate change or manmade structures such as breakwaters.
